Some people think it is better for children to begin to learn a foreign language at primary school than at secondary school. Do you think the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?

There has been an increase of controversies that foreign language education should be provided to the children in primary schooling instead of in secondary schooling. As multilingualism is a better feature for communication with the rest of the world, I am utterly concurring the fact. Despite of having certain demerits of this trend, its merits clearly outweigh its demerits.

There are a plethora of benefits of teaching an exotic language at a very early age, say in the first stage of schooling. One of the prime perks is, that in childhood, children are most catchy to new things also they do not have any fear of judgmental issues from the society. Hence, they may learn the jargon by practicing in a very iterative way. In addition to that, the child has sensational humour and because of that, they ask a variety of questions about common and uncommon things. This state of mind urges them to grasp more words. The last but significant gain I found is that a child has psychology to put their thinking in an extremely complex manner, as compared to adult version might be in the middle schooling, where they do feel lethargy to dig. Thus, elementary school pupils can be more precise in the usage of language.

Admittedly, there might be some negative consequences to the group of students by adding foreign language courses to the curriculum. To commence with, one of the hard issues is the stress created at an early age child’s mind by the mandatory modules. At this age, they are also learning their mother tongue also. If some have problems in understanding their first language, it will overwhelm their little growing minds. That is perhaps why some people are not in line to add international dialects to the elementary school syllabus.

To recapitulate, even though, foreign language as a secondary school course would be an appealing deal, the superiorities of teaching multinational language in the primary school clearly surpasses the pitfalls. It will not only add better tongue development on phonetics but also help to communicate clearly to the outer world in long run.
